Last Night a bunch of friends of mine we all went to see the directorial project of the talented writer Matt Tyrnauer who just happens to also write for Vanity Fair.

What was most interesting to all of us was the relationship between these two men and the inner workings of this famed haute couture house and its fellinesk type of women who painstakingly sew everything by hand ... this is what haute couture is all about ...

Matt sense of humor and candid honesty of these two men is very different to what the movie viewer senses throughout the film .. the men taunt each other back and forth but what one discovers its all just a dance between two men who have needed each other to be who they are as one. both are fashion icons in there own right and both deserve praise.

But what one does not get is the many many hours of Matt's painstakingly hours of cutting room drama , behind the scenes of the difficulty it took to capture these two men in action ... and we all hope that one day there will be many sequels to the many cast of characters that were in the behind the scenes of the Valentino family of co workers and friends.

This is a true work of art, I myself and my partner Scott Stargardt can see allot of ourselves in this kind of working relationship , maybe someday we will be worthy of a film experience of sorts.. I can only tell you this , I am not Valentino ... that's is Scott.:) wink wink

I have not been to the latest art instulation in nyc at the famed Brooklyn Bridge,I hear its quite the experience to view from land , boat or bridge.

What I love about these art instulations they are free. Growing up in NYC and to this day Art is all around us at a very reasonable cost or no charge , no time limit open 24 hours .So my questions is has anyone seen the waterfall at nite? Is it light up ? Last time I looked at my Con Ed bill I was paying 13 cents a kilo watt. These days if you notice on the back of your bill you can switch to a more competitve energy supplier at no extra cost http://www.poweryourway.com/. (Just visit and compare the prices offered by those energy service companies (ESCO'S).Con Ed will pass the savings back to you via your next bill through a new energy supplier.. so who knew..? well now I pay 6cents a kilo watt at the store..Art may be free but unfortunately energy is not , but I do like to pass a savings to my fellow man, thats the artist in me..

PAINT ME POP= LONDON calling NYC

I am a huge admirer of pop artist culture and my all time favorite is Michael Salter’s his work can be found all over the world but if you want to see his work it is featured on http://www.notcouture.com/

My other favorite artist of all times is Andy Warhol; he has inspired me through my life in my art as an artist designer and photographer. He is always in the back of my mind whatever medium I am being creative in. Recently my partner Scott came home one night last month to inform me that they found an original Keith Herring mural UN touched on a façade of a building in the east village of Manhattan. This is unheard of since its been decades since his passing and the unlikely hood of a mural unseen and for that matter preserved over the time in great condition is highly unlikely to have occurred. Therefore, as this treasure is preserved and noted...I like to take this time to appreciate the former and present stars of pop art culture. We at Kifka+Heller are planning to homage such artist in the future by creating our own unique version of pop art interpretation and integrate it in our fashion apparel and home collection… so I keep you all posted . NICE CATCH SON, I am so PROUD of you SON,LOOK AT YOU, YOU have Become the greatest MOM and MY Daughter is the prettiest... A fathers words we all have heard growing up ..Some of us may have heard both , well you know how the world is a changing..
WE in New York Have finally recieved a governor who supports Gay marriage ... Halalooya mother of Mary Christ OH mighty its about freaking time.
This man whom has a sight challenge certainly is not blind sighted at all were it counts ..Human rights issues and common sense tells us that we are all created equal and deserve the same basic human rights..
So this fathers day lets all get married.. and if your a lesbian.. well you have to wait for mothers day .. it all depends on what kind of relationship you have with your parents.. you as gay individuals have the right to decide which parent deserves this gift .. and perhaps that present of you all finally getting married will solve that old age question.. son or daughter..when are you going to settle down and get married.. good luck..KIFKA+HELLER

This election is not about gender,ITs about real solutions ,political qualifictions and governmental experience .The candidate who speaks the truth, formulates concrete realistic solutions to our real problems domestically and abroad should be elected.Obama is full of words of actions or one line political jargon. McCain is just full of hot air . but I give him points for his beautiful wife dressed in chanel head to toe ..So here we have Hillary, smart experienced and charismatic , so whats the deal? let me remind all of you passive aggressive americans who somehow elected george bush twice? sorta .. haven't you had enough!!! lets face it..americans we are no longer deaf ,dumb and blind..or hung up on giving women power?...

No one ever said women aren't funny.

Boys to men know that women are also to be taken seriously. That is why men feel threatened and that is why in these times when we have a chance to elect the first women president why in hell are we divided.Let us all ask ourselves ,why are we not jumping at the chance to elect Hilary Clinton...IF you look at history.. men have created the wars and the economic turmoil we now live in .MEN as leaders in this country have failed us repeatively. I confess the first time my partner said, “try our jean” I was a bit apprehensive because well unlike him I am 13 years his senior. I thought I could not get away with a slim fit stretch jean... well after wearing it all day I have to admit they were the coolest and sexiest feeling jean I had ever worn. Since that day, I have become a believer... I no longer feel pigeon holed to wear a basic jean such as Levis I enjoy wearing all brands and do like variety in my jean apparel. Kate Moss my favorite model !Just when I thought Kate Moss was my favorite model she is now my favorite designer...If Life wasn't complicated or difficult enough. Every famous person who reaches such stardom in a profession now has got to steal a piece of the pie from another arena..Is it fair?.. I think so.... I think its great to not only make others look good by wearing there cloths but this chic now is going to sell you cloths that she designs to make you look and feel as if you were wearing her wardrobe.. genius I say. I think she has got to be one of the most long lasting incredible marketable, most beautiful women ever to grace the fashion pages.. and she is 5 foot 5.. STAY TUNED we are on the move....REGINA is new face model that we have selected to be representing us in our look book.. We thought you might like a sneak peak of our girl on the move... I do know that smoking is no longer chic but we all have our vices but this girl only smoked in the picture becuase she was holding my cig while I took the picture. I still thinking cigs are quite chic in some photos and are a glamous prop from time to time... but this year myself and scott are going to quite smoking... So please shop at the store so we can once and for all put out the butts ... fashion up starts can lead to smoking more so help us make the store a success and quite the habit .. thks HELLER

Getting through the PR fog with a type in your BLOG

I am writing to you all from the confines of Kifka+ Heller, the sun has finally came out from behind the rain clouds which thank god has made my day seem sunnier..and yours too I hope..

Being all alone in a store on a rainy day can be very lonely because most people are not shopping or browsing on 49Th street nor for that matter in NYC .. so as you might imagine , one has got to stay stimulated. I have spent my hours today clicking through the many fantastic fashion blogs and reading every publication dedicated to the lifestyles of the rich ,fashionable, and artistic.

I must say that before there was Internet , what did solo retail people do . Did they count the dangling threads from garments in the store.. or chewgum endlessly, even worse counting the minutes on the clock..what a drag.. my gratitute and thank you's to these various people such as the fashion geek blog/ and the fashion addict blog for making my day interesting and amusing.

AS the sun washed over the street I noticed a familiar face pop into our store. A stylist who lives up the street .Looking for some of our archive designer wears .. for rental of course, :) we don't part with the collectibles so easily here at KIFKA+HELLER.. at least my partner Scott would rather not since he has paid for years storing them and dusting them off when he wants to remember what it feels like to put on once again 5inch pair of croc Vivianne Westwoods.. I must admit I am glad he does!!! because it takes a real man to wear a pump that HIGH!

Ask your self why men make the best fashion designers ,makeup artists ,hairdressers and stylists.. because they understand fashion from a different perspective. Women just have a different perspective which doesn't mean that they lack anyless fashion sense.IT is entirely what makes one see things differently in the fashion fog! Which was my original point, sometimes its all you can do to get through the fashion fog is to BLOG> till we meet again ..HELLER signing off.

The long anticipation of the opening of the store was becoming like a really bad joke .. we had intended to originally open march 13 ,which was a date my partner and I choose because we are both born in the month of march.. my birthday is the 5th and his is on 8th so with the rebirth of our store we thought it be appropriate to combine our birthday dates and open lucky 13 ..lol well how unlucky were we ...at the time everything went wrong that could.. so we delayed and delayed our opening till now .. opening April 22.Let me just say ..once your in business for yourself it's the most rewarding wonderful feeling .. but along with all those rewards, comes the heartburn ,worry and anxiety. If I could compare it to anything remotely sinking and nonsensical to doubt something that should never be doubted. It is how I felt as a young child when I feared waiting for the arrival of my classmate friends to come to my first co ed birthday party. I sat watching my mom prepare the party room for my guests to arrive, panicky and nervous that all this prep was for nothing. All I could imagine was "what if no one shows up".. BUT my mom assured me that delicious servings of make your own ice cream sundae's, how could they stay away! WELL she was right ! my party was a huge success but all that worrying was for nothing ..so I keep telling myself that the successes I enjoy today as a grown up.. I need not worry .. so I don't..So Kifka+Heller has finally opened this week and we have had numerous past and present new admirers of our store stop in to gaze ,compliment and promise to come back with there friends .... girlfriends .. and even sons and daughters...
